William Charles “Bill” Burk: June 1, 1939 – July 31, 2018

William Charles “Bill” Burk went home to heaven at the age of 79 on July 31, 2018, with both his daughters at his side. They told him to ride those clouds up to heaven to be with his family members who are already there. And, Auntie Fran was probably yelling “get your behind up here already, Billy Burk!”

Bill was born on June 1, 1939, in Coupeville to Charles and Lois (Haney) Burk. Bill graduated from Langley High School in 1958, lettering in tennis, football (77), basketball (55) and baseball. After graduation, Bill went into the Air Force and served four years as an air policeman and sentry dog handler. Bill then started his career as a meat cutter apprentice working for Lucky’s and retiring from QFC in 1999. Bill married his beloved wife Gay (Johnson) in June 1995. Bill enjoyed his fantasy football leagues and getting together with his buddies at Taster’s. Bill is survived by his daughters Kimberly Burk, Mickie Burk, the apple of his eye granddaughter Melissa Mylius, step-son Pat (Debbie) Law, niece Pam (Dave) Bauermeister, nephew Jeff Johnson, grandson Phil Burk, grandnieces Destiny (Scott) Shelton, Sheriah (Ryan) Little and Lacy Lepo.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Francis Johnson, his brother in-law Howard Johnson and his wife Gay. The graveside service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park, 23800 104th Ave. W in Edmonds on Friday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m. Following that we will have a celebration of life party at the Nile Country Club Gold Room from 3-6:30 p.m.
