William Riva: April 27, 2018

William Riva departed from this life on April 27, 2018, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease and melanoma.

Married 36 years, Bill and Wenche lived in Kirkland, owning three furniture stores in the Seattle area.

Their most treasured years were spent upon their retirement in 1999 amidst 4,000 rose bushes at their Whidbey Island home. The Rivas enjoyed their time between Whidbey and their home in Green Valley, Ariz., where they eventually settled.

Bill and Wenche were genuine soulmates. Bill was Wenche’s rock and the light of her life. The couple cherished their cats and Westie. Everyone appreciated Bill’s dry sense of humor and gentlemanly demeanor.

He is survived by his beloved wife Wenche and dog Alistaire. “Those we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for those we love deeply become a part of us forever.” William Riva will live always in the hearts of many.
