Letter: President Donald Trump the real problem, not illegal immigrants

Editor,

We do not have an illegal immigration problem in this country, immigration is at an all-time low. Donald J. Trump is the problem, trying to use fear of the other to distract us from his racist and secretive practices.

Don’t be deceived. Trump is trying to scare us by using brown mothers and their children fleeing Latin American gangs, which started in Los Angeles.

We should be working with these countries in the battle of gang violence, but we do not even have diplomats there. Trump is trying to take due process away from immigrants too.

Who will be next? We do not govern by tweet, there are laws and the Constitution to follow.

Trump thinks if he can divide us with fear, he can continue his race-based fascist agenda and get away with it. Don’t let him, stay focused. Demand to know what the government is doing and why.

This is not how America works.

What I am afraid of is that Trump’s administration and the sycophants around him will destroy our wonderful democracy, not brown people fleeing for their lives.

We need to know what lying Trump is doing. Why he is separating families, where are they, how many — the real number — when and how they will be reunited.

His secrecy is wrong, trying to get around immigration law is wrong, internment camps are very wrong. Thank God for the media who try and stay on top of all this self-made drama and lawlessness.

Do not let Trump divide us. Vote! November is near. Then impeach the whole gang of criminals.
