To the editor:

I have been an active substitute in the South Whidbey School District for 10 years, since my retirement. I also am called to cover classes in the Coupeville and Mukilteo schools.

I just wanted to comment that the classes and teachers in the SWSD are providing a quality education in technology services.

Classrooms have been set up with “smart boards” so that students are offered lessons from the Internet under teacher instruction. At the end of summer, all subs were given a workshop to operate a “smart board” by the SWSD. The other districts have “smart boards,” but nothing like SWSD.

I endorse the upcoming school bond to continue the strong education goals of SWSD.
