To the editor:

Inside the covered arena at the M-Bar-C Ranch on Sunday, Oct. 24, the glow of gratitude warmed people against the weekend cold as more than 250 people celebrated the recent saving of the Trillium forest.

After an intense seven-month campaign, the successful conclusion of the fundraising effort is a tribute to the efforts of hundreds. Thank you for spreading the word, volunteering and making donations. Thank you for organizing individual fundraising events and efforts. Every action, every person, every gift moved the project forward. The incredible happened; together we raised millions in just months, and bought the property for our native wildlife and the public.

So, to all who helped: Thank you. This beautiful property is already a community treasure, and will only become more so as time passes.

Thanks for all you’ve done. We couldn’t have achieved it without all of you. Wildlife thanks you. Future generations thank you. We are grateful beyond words.
