To the editor:

As a recent patient at Whidbey General Hospital, there are many positives as I review my experience — from beginning in the emergency room — quick professional treatment from doctors, nurses, radiology, lab stab, staff assessment, leading to admission — from hospitalist, nursing and support staff, I felt safe and cared for as they were vigilant to my needs. I was checked on frequently, and felt a warm, caring presence from all departments.

I am grateful for a local hospital that is trying to maintain community service with great professionalism. We are so fortunate to have the expertise so close to home.

Please vote yes for the hospital bond to increase the necessary improvements needed.

Best wishes for National Nurses Week to our hard-working staff.
