To the editor:

I am confused by the Edgecliff residents Prop. 1 folks referring to the hearing examiner position as "complicated" and adding out-of-town expertise to the city government when their new government proposal does a lot more: a technical city manager not from or connected to the community and definitely a lot more expensive than a hearing examiner.

I know many examiners and they are qualified planners and/or attorneys and are brought in only on difficult projects. Changing the form of government is "complicated" and expensive and WHY?
