Letters to the Editor

Listen to those who know | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

The following is from an article about Google in another newspaper:

“After the financial crisis in late 2008, the information sector shed less than 4 percent of total jobs. By January 2010, the sector revved up hiring again. Today there are still more job vacancies than skilled workers, and recruiters say companies are accepting candidates from community colleges who have the drive to keep learning.”

Take heed, you who whine about the economy. You have the power to turn your own lives around, and if enough do so, the economy will follow, no matter what our elected leaders do.

A note to our elected leaders: Innovative ideas that allow companies like California-based Google to thrive could benefit city, county and state governments anywhere. Please have the good sense to listen to those who know how.
