To the editor:

Does anybody else think prosecuting the Barefoot Bandit in Coupeville is a waste of Island County taxpayer dollars?

Why can’t this be done in a courthouse on Interstate 5, so that the lookie-loos can find places to park and stay? Why would we tie up the Deception Pass Bridge and the ferries so that our tax-paying islanders cannot easily get to off-island work?

I realize that the victims here in Island County need their justice. Wouldn’t it be better if they could access their courtroom on I-5, instead of by remote TV at the overcrowded Island County courthouse?
