To the editor:

Langley voters are in the process of selecting the next city council. They have selected the top two candidates in the primary and are now considering who to elect in the General Election.

I encourage the Langley City Council to allow the electoral process to play out as voters expect it to. Short-circuiting the election by elevating any active candidate to the council would not allow Langley voters to complete the selection process that they are currently engaged in.

Indeed, it would elevate both candidates onto the council because Thomas Gill would be the only candidate remaining in the Position 4 race.
