Letters to the Editor

Your support will be honored | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

To the editor:

We, Lou Malzone and Marilynn Abrahamson, would like to thank each and every resident of Freeland who chose to cast a vote for us.

Our overwhelming victory is a statement of community support we will honor by fulfilling our commitment to act in the best interest of Freeland residents. A special thank you is given to our supporters who provided us the resources to send flyers, display campaign signs, came with us door knocking and invited us into their homes to meet our neighbors. We are looking forward to community meetings to discuss the future of Freeland and to hear from the broader public and businesses on what direction Freeland should take.

With more than 300 residents voting for each of us, we are aware of the level of trust and confidence that has been placed in us. We have learned many lessons in 2011 about the responsibilities that come with elected office. It is a priority for us to involve our constituents in decisions that affect their financial security.  With the help of our broad base of supporters, we can look to our own community members and to the larger South Whidbey community to provide the expertise needed to meet the challenges of protecting our drinking water and being good stewards of our environment in the Holmes Harbor Basin.

Thank you all.

MARILYNN ABRAHAMSON

LOU MALZONE
