LETTERS TO THE EDITOR | Finally, we can applaud

April 10, 2012 · Updated 7:41 PM

To the editor:

A most amazing and creative “Sacred Concert” was experienced by all those attending Friday evening’s event at the Methodist church in Langley, under the direction of Bill Humphreys. If you were there, you will know why I am taking this means of expressing my deep appreciation to each and every one of the many performers who, through their music and their spoken words, touched deep emotions, bringing both consolation and hope, even joy, in a time of sorrow.

Due to the nature of the program, the audience was asked not to applaud, and to depart in silence at the conclusion of the concert, which was entirely appropriate. However, may I now say loudly to each and all of you: my gratitude, and --- applause, applause, applause!
