LETTERS TO THE EDITOR | Don’t nail the tree

October 19, 2012 · Updated 3:08 PM

To the editor:

Please do not nail political (or any) signs into our living trees.

There is a very old cedar near our house that is the constant target of campaign signs and it is starting to damage it severely — the same people keep nailing them up while others keep trying to protect the tree.

Please use stakes and put them in the ground near your property if you feel you must post a sign.
