LETTERS TO THE EDITOR | Bailey camp resorts to tabloid tactics
October 19, 2012 · Updated 3:09 PM
To the editor:
Like many other voters, I abhor the campaign fliers that get stuffed in our mailbox about this time in the campaign season as a huge waste of money and my time throwing them out.
But I am especially disgusted by those that try to deceive voters using “tabloid tactics.” I received one yesterday with a Photoshopped picture of Mary Margaret with someone else’s hands covering her ears, blaring headlines that are totally misleading.
I presume that Barbara Bailey will deny that she had anything to do with this, as she did during the primary, and that she can’t control what her supporters do. That’s interesting, because Mary Margaret seems to have no such difficulty with her campaign supporters.
It also seems that Barbara Bailey’s supporters can’t find anything good to say about her own record, and have resorted instead to deceit and deception.
I’ll be voting for Mary Margaret because I know that she has worked hard for her constituents for many years. I’m very glad that she is willing to continue doing so. And I will never support someone like Barbara Bailey who allows this type of vitriol to run her campaign.
