LETTERS TO THE EDITOR | WAIF slurs not appreciated

December 26, 2012 · Updated 12:01 PM

To the editor:

I recently received an anonymous manila packet in the mail filled with slanderous accusations about WAIF. After reading through the pages I understand why you left it unsigned and with no return address. Why would you try to discredit an organization that has accomplished so much for pets and people in need?

I have been to the WAIF shelters over the years on many occasions and have always observed hard working volunteers and staff who really care about helpless animals. They are trying to make life better for unfortunate creatures who have lost their homes. I see an exceptional job being done by those who care, it is unfortunate that you do not.

I have no idea how you got my name and address but please make no further attempt to contact me. Perhaps you could try something constructive rather than destructive.
