LETTERS TO THE EDITOR | Leaders need high standards

January 11, 2013 · Updated 2:57 PM

To the editor:

Kudos to the judge who held this criminal mayor to higher standards rather than cave. Kudos to the blogger who had the insight to say “hmmm … this just doesn’t seem right.” We have a place on Camano, but we boat often in the summer to Langley for good pizza, beer, shopping and movies. I also work a lot on Whidbey at the NAS. I will not be visiting former Mayor Paul Schell’s place, rant to him for acting like a 10 year old and posting on the Facebook account of the blogger’s wife.

We must hold our elected leaders to higher standards. I’m tired of our elected officials thinking that they should get special privileges and can do what they want while in office. Hopefully those 15 days in jail along with stripping Mayor Larry Kwarsick of ever holding an elected position should set him straight.
