LETTERS TO THE EDITOR | Patient sees need for hospital bond

January 15, 2013 · Updated 2:24 PM

To the editor:

First, I must express my thanks to doctors Lehman and Brown for the care I received at Whidbey General Hospital this past week. The nursing staff, too numerous to name, were also very competent and attentive and I appreciated their excellent care.

I did not vote for the hospital bond levy because I had some concerns about how well it had been planned and analyzed for the best use of funding. However, after spending four days at the hospital, I am convinced that this hospital needs our support to expand and improve services.

Our community is growing and our access to quality medical care needs to grow with us. It is also important for our medical care, privacy and comfort to provide private rooms. Please join me in supporting our hospital so that we may be better supported by it.
