To the editor:

Sometimes I get a little peeved over the hypocrisy of the Republican establishment and the issue over Sen. Haugen opening an office in Oak Harbor is definitely one of these times that raises my blood pressure. The Republicans conveniently do not object publicly that Rep. Norma Smith opened an office in Coupeville and that former Rep. Chris Strow had one before in Oak Harbor.

Not only is Sen. Haugen using her own money to pay the rent but she is making the time to avail herself closer to her constituents. Who could argue that this is not a wonderful opportunity for us who live so far away from Olympia!
