LETTERS TO THE EDITOR | Kwarsick set a fine standard
February 15, 2013 · Updated 9:22 PM
To the editor:
Apparently we have five qualified candidates that would like to become the mayor of Langley … admirable. This in contrast to our last uncontested mayoral election which I believe spoke volumes to the respect and high regard that Larry Kwarsick holds with the Langley electorate.
I have had the opportunity to work with Larry on several occasions on issues involving projects on which I was the architect when he was the director of Island County Planning and Community Development.
In recent years, myself and my clients enlisted Mr. Kwarsick as a consultant to successfully navigate and negotiate complex zoning and land use issues. He was critical to the success of these projects and I look forward to working with him in this capacity in the future.
My hope is that whoever is selected mayor will bring a similar respectful diplomacy, sadly missing in today’s governance, that I appreciated and observed that Mr. Kwarsick brought to the process. Moving forward, we may want to reflect on the words of Alexander Pope, “To err is human; to forgive is divine,” … and thank you Larry for all of your years of fine work and dedication to Island County and our community.
