LETTER | Stop natural born killers from breeding

To the editor:

Cats are natural born killers and they also breed like rabbits. If bird lovers are serious about preserving their feathered friends from feline assault then they need to address the larger problem of feral cats breeding in the wild.

The only person that does is Jean Fasini of Oasis for Animals in Langley, who, with her aging van, traps and neuters hundreds of island cats each year and so prevents millions of bird killers from being born. The county has no program for this. So support Jean.

Also remember that the largest killer of birds is due to loss of habitat so we need to maintain the rural character of the island.
