LETTERS | Common sense, not signs, needed at Double Bluff

To the editor:

In response to the article of Wednesday, April 3, on the tragic fall from Double Bluff: No additional warning signs need to be posted.

People just need to use common sense. You don’t walk the railroad tracks without assuming trains use those tracks. I have never walked along the bluffs without seeing sand and rocks tumbling down and seeing the slides that came down, some recently.

Parents need to caution their kids about the dangers of the bluff. Any warning signs would just be covered by the slides. Besides the bluffs are private property and you would be trespassing.

And as long as I am on my soap box, the beach is a good place to walk your dog, but please carry your doggy poop bag with you, and carry it back with you as a badge of respect to show the public you care for the beach environment. Don’t leave it on the logs — you will forget to pick it up — to let it pollute at a later date. Stay posted.
