LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Many help Wellington move, transition

April 12, 2013 · Updated 3:14 PM

To the editor:

I would like to acknowledge the generous assistance given to Wellington Day School during its move to our new location on Highway 525. Though we remain sad to know the House of Prayer has disbanded, there are not enough words to express our gratitude at having access to such an awesome facility. Thank you, House of Prayer, for making our transition so smooth and enjoyable.

A big thank you also goes out to all of our amazing, loving, hardworking parents. You are Wellington! It’s not really just the kids — it’s all of us. And at the end of those long workdays, I know we were all dirty and tired, but we did it! And parents — you rock! Thank you so much.

There were also many helpful people in our community and many supportive inspectors as well. To the inspectors: Thanks for doing your job so kindly. To everyone else — you didn’t even have a child with us, you only had a loving heart. So thank you for all your contributions. You also are part of our family.

And last but not least, I offer the biggest thank you of all to our Wellington teachers, spouses, families and our fantastic caretaker, Ron. There were so many things you did. There were hours of volunteerism, many late nights painting, rainy days spent putting up fencing, all those administrative headaches and countless projects to coordinate. Really, I could go on and on; I could say “thank you” forever.

Though Wellington has only begun to settle into our new home, we’re still doing pretty well. If anyone in our community would like to drop by for a peek inside the school, just call to set up a visit.

Well, that’s about it. This year Wellington celebrates its 20th anniversary in our new and inspiring home. And we just feel so darn happy! Thank you to everyone.

Elizabeth Itaya
