To the editor:
There is a misconception by the public that the Freeland Water and Sewer District is buying the Holmes Harbor golf course. A letter to the editor in the April 3 edition complains that the FWSD’s purchase of the Holmes Harbor golf course brings the past sewer debacle to mind.
It is not the FWSD that is purchasing the golf course. It is the Holmes Harbor Sewer System. These are two different entities. To the writer of the letter, rest assured that the FWSD is not buying Holmes Harbor golf course. In the future, it would help if the newspaper reporters and editors were mindful to make the distinction between Holmes Harbor Sewer District and the Freeland Water & Sewer District. FWSD does not own or operate a sewer system at the present time. No repeat of past sewer debacles is being entered into by the Freeland Water and Sewer District.
