To the editor:

I wish to thank the kind people from Freeland who stopped to help me and the deer that dropped in front of my car on Highway 525 south of Greenbank on Friday, May 30.

Miraculously, neither I nor my car sustained any damage, but these compassionate people cared for the deer as she expired as a result of a broken neck. While I sought a location for a clear cellphone signal to call 911, these caring people debated searching for a possible orphaned fawn. When I returned to the site I was too late to express my gratitude, but I want everyone to know what wonderful neighbors we have.
