To the editor:

We want to express our gratitude to all the South Whidbey community for their thoughts, prayers and cards in the recent loss of our son Terry Spink.

He is the son of Lyle Spink and step-mother Ann Spink. He was 51 years old, riding his motorcycle near Donner Lake in California, when he was hit and killed by a garbage truck. He was doing what he loved to do, enjoying the mountains on his motorcycle, a split second before he was tragically killed.

We feel so fortunate to live in such a caring and wonderful community that reaches out to comfort their neighbors. Thank you very much.

Lyle and Ann Spink
