Letters to the Editor

LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Former Seattle mayor’s new home isn’t so nice

It took me awhile to finally get up the nerve to drive down to the Langley dock/marina and view what Paul Schell is building.

What a monstrosity, to say the least. It has spoiled the whole terrain of that beautiful lagoon and beach. How can he or the city planner justify or approve  this type of structure?  Can anyone explain the reason it took two years for my neighbor to get questions answered and permits (which were all required by the city) before they could  put in a parking strip for their business (mandatory request by the city)? What does Paul Schell have that so many of our other citizens don’t in obtaining architectural design approval, permits, etc. so quickly? Money?

I thought any building structure had to be at least 20 feet from the road? This certainly isn’t true in this case. What is going on here?

Shame on you Paul Schell for not considering and designing (with approval) a more appropriate dwelling for yourself and all concerned.
