LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Rates are cheaper under local PUDs
September 12, 2008 · Updated 7:37 AM
To the editor:
I have heard so much misinformation about the PUD that I had to set the record straight.
I lived at Diamond Lake in Pend Orielle county for 15 years. The south side of the lake was serviced by a PUD. The north side of the lake was serviced by Inland Power and Light. Our electric rates on the south side were two thirds that of what our friends paid on the north side of the lake.
Also we knew who our commissioners were and could call them at home or see them on the street and talk to them or ask them questions. Try that with PSE.
When it comes up for a vote I am voting for the PUD.
