To the editor:

While it is difficult and time-consuming to pinpoint the exact cause of the rise in the bacterial count at Freeland Park beach, it is clear that many people have worked hard to bring the water quality back to “good” for swimming and wading.

I would like to thank those people, from the county and state health departments to the residents who picked up after Fido (and Fifi), as well as those who repaired and maintained their septic systems.
