To the editor:

To all the constituents within the South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District, I apologize for an error in judgment I made when submitting a letter to the editor from my work computer regarding the upcoming community recreation center ballot measure in November.

I am mostly disappointed by all the time and effort this unintended snafu required on behalf of so many people; the editors, reporters, commissioners, staff and the public (who had to read about it). It was most unfortunate that this took time and energy away from reporting on the more compelling issues in our community.

Most of all, disappointing the park district board of commissioners who deserve to have confidence in me was the most painful part of this learning curve. It is important to me that I continue to have their support and the community’s trust and I assure everyone, this is very unlikely to happen again.

I sincerely hope we can all move on to more newsworthy issues.
