LETTER TO THE EDITOR | Show is funnier than the original
November 18, 2008 · Updated 4:47 PM
To the editor:
Please come see “The Odd Couple” at South Whidbey High School’s newly renovated Little Theatre (in the auditorium)!
It runs one more weekend: Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 23 at 2 p.m.
This female version of Neal Simon’s well-known play, movie and TV show is even funnier than the original, and the high school cast and crew, directed by Don Wodjenski, does a truly professional job.
It is extremely hard to do comedy well, and this group has nailed it totally each night; from the completely mismatched roommates to the Friday night Trivial Pursuit group of “girls” to the hilarious Spanish brothers. (Even the audience gets to participate briefly.)
I am proud to have been part of this production and especially to see the drama program at South Whidbey High School alive and well once again.
