To the editor:

Thanks to the community for support.

On Jan. 31 at Whidbey Children’s Theater, a special concert was held benefiting WCT. LANGLEY ROCKS! showcased talented young local bands performing their original music.

The evening was a rousing success, with the three local bands and our visiting “headliner” band from Olympia truly “rockin’ the house!”

Special thanks to The Electric Son, Cody Williams, C.J. Williams and Eric Martin. And to Your Friend As Ever; Preston Ossman, Ian Marsanyi and Noah Harris, and to Eli Moore who brought along friends to round out the local groups, and finally, The Nextdoor Neighbors from Olympia.

A great time was had by all, and special thanks to Rod Stewart, our tech director, and Nathan Simpson. Thanks to these individuals who gave of their time and energy for the evening event: Teresa Wheeler, Betty and Jim Lightner, Glenn Jones, Jana Szabo, Chelsea Bonacello and Dana Harris.

WCT hopes to showcase other local bands in the future in hopes of encouraging more young people to write music and lyrics and perform their chosen artform.
