To the editor:

The staff of Good Cheer would like to express our thanks to Joe Mosolino and his employees of Windermere Real Estate in Freeland for their day of volunteering, June 19.

Windermere chose Good Cheer to be the recipient of its community service day again this year. This large, enthusiastic group split up to work in our Langley and Clinton thrift stores, food bank, distribution center and garden. It was a very successful workday, getting much accomplished in all locations. A big thank you also goes out to Stewart Title of Island County for providing lunch to our volunteers.

Good Cheer’s mission is to create a hunger-free community. Last month, Good Cheer was able to provide food to 665 families on South Whidbey. Almost 48,000 pounds of food was distributed. It is because of community volunteers that we are able to keep that commitment.

If your group or organization would like to help Good Cheer continue our mission, contact us at 221-6494.
