To the editor:

My name is Jonathon Peterson. I am a 13-year-old boy and I live on south Whidbey Island. I would like to thank the taxpayers for agreeing to pay a little higher tax, in order to make free Island Transit service available to all citizens.

I have been riding Island Transit for about a year now and have really come to appreciate it. Being 13, I cannot drive. Throughout my childhood, I have had to rely on my parents to drive me to sports practices and karate classes. Sometimes this made them need to take off of wok. In this shaky economy, this is not good. With Island Transit in place, I can now travel around the island on my own.

Our transportation system is a big help to both me and my family. Again, I would like to thank the taxpayers for their generous contribution to the lives of others.
