To the editor:

The staff at Good Cheer Food Bank would like to thank Northwest Language Academy for its translating services.

Recently we were handing out written information (in English) to our food-bank clients. We needed to have this information in Spanish also. I contacted Josette Hendrix at the academy, and with the help of Tillie Scruton and Darcy Monagas we are now able to provide better service to our Spanish-speaking clients.

Located in Bayview, Northwest Language Academy is a nonprofit organization that offers English as a second language training as well as other languages. Its commitment is to make this opportunity available to all, regardless of financial circumstances or age. The academy’s mission also includes cross-cultural communication and understanding.

We again thank these ladies for the generous offer of their translation services.
