To the editor:

Thank you to the voters of the South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District for their supportive votes that passed the recent four-year maintenance-and-operations levy.

The board and staff of the parks district realize these are trying financial times for our community, and the levy passage speaks volumes about your support for the work we do in this community. The voters’ continued support of our mission to provide recreation programs, facilities and athletic fields for our citizens, even during difficult financial times, is a testament to the importance of parks and recreation availability in our community.

We aim to continue growing at a slow and manageable rate, providing recreational classes, programs, activities and facilities for the recreational needs of our citizens and residents. By passing a four-year levy, the district will not have to worry about funding for the next four years, allowing us to concentrate on improving facilities and offering more enrichment programs for families, individuals and youth.

Please consider visiting us at our new district headquarters at 5475 Maxwelton Road, and signing up for a program or special event today.

Terri Arnold

Director

South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District
