After having barely enough players to suit up for two teams, South Whidbey girls basketball looks to have enough for three teams. 33 girls came out for the first day of tryouts on Monday, Nov. 15 under new head coach Andy Davis. 10 freshmen, eight sophomores, eight juniors and seven seniors ran through layup, two-ball dribbling, passing, outlet, spacing and position drills on the first day. If the number of girls remains around 30, first-year girls basketball coach Davis should have a varsity, junior varsity and freshmen/C-team. The South Whidbey Record was there to catch the excited and surprised looks of the girls on the first day.
