Friday Harbor quickly adjusted its defense to trap and frustrate South Whidbey High School en route to a 67-28 Wolverine win.
The Falcons’ offensive struggles continued after losing to Darrington High School 53-19 on Thursday, Dec. 2.
Against Friday Harbor (1-0), South Whidbey’s defense limited the Wolverines to 27 points in the first half, including only 9 points in the first quarter. But Friday Harbor won the rebounding battle and used its size to find easy points in the paint. Once the Wolverines cracked the Falcons’ offensive scheme, Friday Harbor stole passes like the Grinch stole Christmas: quick and without a second thought.
South Whidbey is 0-3 and visits Cascade Conference opponent Lakewood High School (1-1) on Tuesday, Dec. 7. Lakewood was one of three games the Falcons won last season.
