South Whidbey players get ready for spring season

Spring sports tryouts and practices begin Monday, Feb. 28 for South Whidbey High School. 

The boys and girls golf teams will be the first spring sport program to have a match when they travel to Battle Creek Golf Course in Marysville on March 10. 

The boys golf team has a late home match on April 14; the girls team hosts Monroe on March 17. 

Falcon baseball and fastpitch softball open their seasons at Friday Harbor on Saturday, March 12. The baseball team’s first home game is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, March 18. 

Boys soccer hosts its first home match at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 19 against Mount Baker. 

Girls tennis hosts its first home match against Lakewood on Monday, March 21. 

Falcon track and field will have the first of its three home meets on March 31 in a Cascade Conference showdown with Coupeville and Archbishop Murphy high schools. 

Washington Interscholastic Activities Association requires 10 practices before a student-athlete may compete in a game, match or meet. 

All South Whidbey spring sports are scheduled within the allowable amount of games, meets or matches.
