Spring fly-fishing classes start soon

Gil Nyerges is offering his annual spring beginner’s fly-casting and fly- tying classes in April.

The fly-casting classes are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays for three weekends. Classes are April 2, 9 and 16 (16 hours total), at the Lone Lake boat launch.

All casting equipment is furnished. Students who have their own gear should bring it in for an evaluation.

The fly-tying classes are scheduled from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, starting April 4. The following week, classes are on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at the Bayiew Senior Center (18 hours total).

The cost will be $15 for the 16 hours of casting instruction, and $35 for the 18 hours of tie teaching. Payment is due at the first class of each. Register by calling Gil Nyerges at 341-5313, or e-mail
