The community of South Whidbey Island invites you to participate in the 15th Annual Chum Run on Sunday, June 5 at 10 a.m. Participants of all ages are invited to enjoy a 5 kilometer run or walk through the forest trails of Community Park.

This light-hearted event has become a local favorite and has grown by great strides. Proceeds benefit South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District and the South Whidbey High School cross country teams.

Younger kids are invited to participate in the Fry Run. There will be individual competitions and a team costume contest. Youths must be accompanied by an adult. Participants receive a classic and classy Chum Run shirt (shirts available on a first-come, first-served basis).

Volunteers are needed to keep this event fun. Call the Parks office at 221-5484 to volunteer.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. The fee is $25 if registered by June 2, $30 day-of-race for adults. There is a $5 discount for students 18 and under and also a $5 discount for families of three or more registrants.

No online registration available for students. Students must complete a registration form and mail, fax or drop off the form at our office at 5475 Maxwelton Road in Langley. The mailing address is: SWPRD, PO Box 136, Langley, WA 98260.
