The Central Whidbey Sportsman’s Association has announced its upcoming shooter training and safety classes.

A free hunter education class will be held Aug. 24-27 at the CWSA clubhouse in Coupeville. All materials, including firearms and targets, are provided by the association.

To receive a hunter’s course certificate, learners must attend all four class sessions. The first three classes go from 6 to 9 p.m. The fourth session is a firing range practice and test; the session is from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 27.

Pre-registration is required, as is an online registration with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife at http://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting.

For more information, call course instructors Sam Weatherford at 360-914-0354 or John Boling at 360-969-2440.

Two more classes will be offered in September. One course is Sept. 7-10, and the second is Sept. 21-24.
