South Whidbey girls looking for group exercise can join the Girls Running Club.

Girls from third to sixth grade will run rain or shine every week through the trails at South Whidbey Community Park. The club’s focus is to build mileage up to three miles per run while building strength and stamina.

The group’s goal is to complete the Chum Run 5K in June. Sessions begin Monday, March 5. The runs are from 3:35 to 5 p.m. The entry fee is $48.

The South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District program is run by Pam Jacques.

For more information and to register, contact Jacques at 221-8162 or email peapod@whidbey.com.
