Future Falcons can learn to hoop

June 26, 2012 · Updated 1:58 PM

Aspiring Falcon ballers can get an early start on the hardwood at Erickson Gym. The Falcon coaching staff and boys and girls on the high school basketball teams will host a clinic in July for South End youths.

The Falcon Basketball Camp runs from 10 a.m. to noon for students enrolling in grades three to five, and from 1 to 3 p.m. for grades six to eight, July 16-20. Boys and girls are invited to  develop dribbling, passing and shooting skills for $60, of which 80 percent goes to fund the Falcon basketball teams. Players are asked to bring shorts and athletic shoes for the clinic at the high school gym, and they get a camp shirt. Registration can be done at the South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District website at http://www.activityreg.com/selectactivity.wcs.
