Falcon fall sports registration due soon
July 31, 2012 · Updated 2:26 PM
Fall sports for South Whidbey High School will soon start.
Football tryouts and practices begin Wednesday, Aug. 15, a few days earlier than the other fall sports: volleyball, girls soccer, boys tennis, cheer and cross country. Athletic clearance packets for football can be dropped off starting Aug. 13 at the high school’s athletic office. The other clearance packets are due Aug. 15 and those sports’ tryouts begin Monday, Aug. 20. The PAC (parents/athletes/coaches) meeting will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22.
Athletics fees increased this year to cover the district’s budget cuts and rising transportation costs. Football fees cost $90, a $40 increase, and all other sports fees are $75. Associated Student Body cards, which admit students into games and reduces the cost of dance tickets among other student life events, will remain at $25. Athletics fees are due Sept. 4.
Also, be sure to pencil a bit of time to read and fill out the 17-page document.
