South End golfer swings well

Nick Robinson, a 14-year-old from Freeland, competed well and finished atop his age division in a pair of Washington Junior Golf Association tournaments.

He tied for first place July 9 at the Everett Golf & Country Club for boys 14-15 years old. Robinson shot a 76, as did Devan Boucher of Blaine and Matthew Kornegay of Mukilteo. Earlier in July, Robinson finished in a tie for fourth place with 82 strokes at the Discovery Bay Golf Course.

Robinson does not attend a South Whidbey School District school.
