South Whidbey boys tennis ready for District 1 playoffs

South Whidbey will have a mix of senior experience and first-year athleticism on the tennis courts today.

The Falcons are hosting the 1A District 1 boys tennis playoffs at noon, as long as the weather stays clear. Friday Harbor, Coupeville and King’s, as well as singles players from Lummi Nation and Meridian, will visit South Whidbey High School for a chance to advance to the 1A quad-district tournament Oct. 24 at the Amy Yee Tennis Center in Seattle.

South Whidbey’s lineup includes senior Guy Sparkman and sophomore Jack Hood in singles. The Falcons’ doubles teams are senior Taylor Simmons and sophomore Jonathon Peterson, and senior Mitchell Hughes and sophomore Charley Stelling.
