Wildcats tear into Falcon girls hoops

Archbishop Murphy extended its Cascade Conference undefeated streak against South Whidbey with a 65-35 trouncing Friday night.

The Wildcats (6-0 Cascade Conference; 9-2 overall) were led by senior forward Beth Carlson, who scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds. Archbishop Murphy jumped out to an 18-8 lead by the second quarter and went into halftime up 39-19 over South Whidbey (2-4 Cascade Conference; 6-5 overall). The loss ended the Falcons’ three-game win streak.

Falcon seniors Hayley Newman and Ellie Greene led their team in the loss with a combined 28 points. Newman tallied a team-high 17.
