South Whidbey led through the first half, but Granite Falls rallied on its home court to win 49-40.

The Tigers held the Falcons to only 14 points in the second half while pouring in 29.

South Whidbey lost its fifth consecutive game despite a game-high 16 points from junior forward Nick French. Granite Falls was led by Riley Larsen who scored 13 points.

It was South Whidbey’s the second loss in as many days. On Monday, the Falcons fell to Penrith, visiting from Australia, 59-41. In the international contest, South Whidbey struggled early, scoring only four points in the first quarter before rebounding with 18 to trail Penrith 37-22 by halftime. French also led the Falcons in that game with 10 points, but South Whidbey (1-6 Cascade Conference; 3-10 overall) allowed Penrith to post four players with double-digit scoring.
