2 Falcons qualify for state / Boys golf

The South Whidbey High School boys golf team will send two to the state tournament May 22 and 23 at Liberty Lake in Spokane.

Ryan Wenzek shot an 87 and Gabe Jacobson-Ross an 88 to finish among the top 22 at the bi-district tournament at the North Bellingham Golf Course Tuesday, May 15, and earn state berths.

Brent DeWolf (96), Noah Ratcliff (108) and Soren Bratrude (124) also competed at the bi-district for South Whidbey.

Wenzek placed 26th in last year’s state tournament when the Falcons placed second in the team standings.
