It’s been a long season for South Whidbey fastpitch.

With only one win in 14 games, the Falcons again missed notching a “W” after a 17-6 loss to Lakewood on Thursday.

Earlier in the week, Sultan shut out South Whidbey after a hot start. The Turks surged to a 4-0 lead in the first inning on three hits and an error. Turk pitcher Shelby Jeffries pitched the complete game and struck out 17 Falcon batters. South Whidbey pitcher Mackenzie Hezel fanned five Turks and allowed one walk through seven innings.
